DMP provided planning services related to water system expansions for Yadkin County. Our first Task developed an Enterprise Business Solution (EBS) to evaluate and develop the tools to provide scalable, easy to manage infrastructure implementation to enhance the quality of life and promote retail and economic development in Yadkin County.  

The first Project served the Town of East Bend with potable water purchased from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County water system. East Bend was operating a well-based system with groundwater sources that exceeds EPA’s MCL for radium. Approximately 55,000 LF of 6”, 8”, and 12” water lines were designed, along with a 250 gpm Booster Pump Station.

DMP assisted Yadkin County to obtain multiple funding commitments. The County was initially awarded Rural Development funding; however, lack of available funds forced the County to look elsewhere. The County committed $0.50M; was awarded a $0.30M Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Grant; and then obtained a $4.175M zero-percent interest Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) loan.
